1️⃣ Initial Setup

Claim & Verify Your Business

Go to google.com/business and claim your listing. Google will send a verification code by mail (takes 5-7 days). Complete this ASAP!

Select Primary Category

Recommended: "Party Equipment Rental Service" or "Event Planner". Add secondary categories like "Balloon Artist" and "Party Store".

Complete Business Information

Fill in: Business name, address (or service area), phone number, website, hours of operation. Make sure everything is consistent with your website!

2️⃣ Profile Optimization

Write Compelling Business Description

Max 750 characters. Include keywords naturally: "balloon decorations", "event styling", your city name, services offered.

Example: "The Balloon Agents provides premium balloon decorations for weddings, birthdays, and corporate events in [City]. Specializing in custom balloon arches, garlands, and installations. Professional setup and delivery available."

Upload High-Quality Photos

Upload at least 10 photos: Logo, cover photo, your best work, team photos, setup process. Update monthly! Businesses with photos get 42% more direction requests.

Add Services & Products

List your main services: Balloon Arches, Centerpieces, Delivery, Setup, etc. Include pricing ranges if comfortable.

Set Attributes

Mark relevant attributes: "Women-led", "LGBTQ+ friendly", "Online appointments", "Online estimates", etc.

3️⃣ Content & Engagement

Post Weekly Updates

Share recent work, special offers, tips, event photos. Google favors active profiles! Aim for 1-2 posts per week minimum.

Respond to ALL Reviews

Reply within 24 hours. Thank positive reviewers, address concerns professionally. This shows you care and improves your ranking!

Answer Questions

Check the Q&A section regularly. Add your own FAQs: "Do you deliver?", "What areas do you serve?", "How far in advance should I book?"

Enable Messaging

Turn on Google messaging so customers can contact you directly. Respond within 24 hours to maintain good standing.

4️⃣ Build Your Reviews

Create Review Link

Get your direct review link from your Google Business dashboard. Make it easy for happy clients to leave reviews!

Ask After Every Event

Send a follow-up email 1-2 days after the event with your review link. Strike while the experience is fresh! Use your Client Feedback Survey tool.

Offer Incentive for Reviews

Offer a small discount on next booking for leaving a review (don't explicitly ask for 5 stars - just honest feedback). Target: 1-2 new reviews per month.

5️⃣ Monitor & Optimize

Check Insights Weekly

Review your Google Business insights: views, clicks, calls, direction requests. Track what's working!

Monitor for Duplicate Listings

Search for your business name + city. If you find duplicates or incorrect listings, report them to Google immediately.

Update for Seasons & Holidays

Update cover photo for holidays, adjust hours for special days, create holiday posts. Keep your profile fresh and current!
